Julie Chen Moonves, who was one of the initial hosts and moderators for The Talk (a Daytime Emmy Award winning talk show) was back on the air in August for the 22nd episode. But her real passion was when she added writing to her duties and won an Emmy for it. Also, she was awarded an Emmy for hosting, and an award-winning comedy talk show. From 2002 until the year 2010, Chen Moonves was the co-host for CBS News' morning weekday broadcast The Early Show. Her prior roles included anchoring the CBS Morning News and The Early Show. After the terrorist attacks on 9/11, Chen Moonves tracked down the father and lead hijacker to give an exclusive interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers like former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and Queen Rania of Jordan and former Defence Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities like Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves also reported for the Emmy-winning CBS Sunday Morning news program, profiling celebrities including Jamie Lee Curtis and Paula Abdul.Prior to The Early Show, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter and anchor for WCBS-TV, the CBS-owned station in New York City (1997-1999).Before joining CBS News, Chen Moonves worked as a reporter at WDTN-TV Dayton (1995-1997). She worked as a producer for ABC NewsOne (1992-1995), the affiliate news service of the network as well as an assistant desk in ABC News' Los Angeles bureau (1990-1991), while finishing her final year at the University of Southern California. The desk was hers in ABC News' Nightline program with Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel has remained as one of her journalist idols. Chen Moonves collaborated with Koppel on the Columbia duPont-winning special Anatomy of a Riot which focussed on the Los Angeles riots of '92.
